These spicy chicken skewers are a Dutch-Indonesian classic. Best served with white rice and a sweet&sour salad or Nasi Goreng (Indonesian fried rice) and peanut sauce.
Ingredients1kg chicken thighs or -fillet
1 tbsp Sweet soy sauce
2 tbsp vegetable oil (no olive oil)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp Sambal Oelek
Cut the chicken thighs into 3 cm cubes,
Mix all ingredients in a bowl and marinade the chicken for minimum of 4 hrs, maximum 24.
Put on skewers and roast over medium high coals until golden brown and done. If you are using wooden skewers, pre-soak them for 2 hours, so they wont burn.
